Named “a talent to watch” by The Hollywood Reporter, Matthew is a writer, filmmaker and lawyer based in NYC. He wrote and directed the psychological thriller THE SKIN OF THE TEETH, which premiered at Newfest and Outfest and was described as "Get Out meets Grindr" and lauded as “an example of visibility done right.”

His journalism has been published in Mother Jones and Newsweek, and his fiction in Amazing Stories and Maudlin House, among other places. He is a graduate of the Kenyon Review Writers Workshop and the  Tin House Speculative Fiction Workshop.

For five years he was a litigator at WilmerHale, focusing on antidiscrimination issues, including securing the right to abortion in Ohio and challenging Virginia’s felon disenfranchisement scheme.
